Purpose |
To effectively support the personal development of rugby coaches in Ulster by identifying their training and development needs, linked to their current specific roles within schools and clubs.

Outcomes |
1. To introduce the concept of ‘Coach Development’ and how to go about it. 2. To introduce the concept of ‘Training Needs Analysis’ and creating a ‘Personal Development Plan’. 3. To develop a model of the “Ideal Coach”. 4. To compare coaches existing skills with the “Ideal Coach” – looking for the gaps. 5. To set personal goals for development. 6. To outline support mechanisms for coach development. 7. To produce an action plan to achieve coach development goals (PDP). 8. Checking, challenging, monitoring and reviewing PDP’s.

This workshop is aimed at ambitious club and school coaches who are working at stages 2 (foundation) and 3 (level 1) of the IRFU Long Term Player Development model.
