A big day is coming up for Belfast based team, Cooke RFC Women as they travel to Old Belvedere to take on Galweigan's in the All Ireland Cup Final at 2.30pm on Saturday 2nd April. Â
Having moved up into Division 1 of the All Ireland League this season, the women have made massive improvements as a side, and showed their skill during the semi-final, beating UL Bohemians 21-13. The Belfast team had a successful run in the League, finishing in 6th position. After a successful unbeaten run in the Rosie Stewart Cup, their confidence has grown along with their skill set, and they look forward to the challenge of taking part in the All Ireland Cup Final this weekend. This will be the first time an Ulster team has taken part in the Women's AIL Cup Final since 2011, when the Cooke women were narrowly beaten UL Bohemians 25-23.
Cooke Women's Head Coach, Grace Davitt commented, "We are really looking forward to taking on Galweigan's this weekend in the Cup Final. Having played them in the league with a strong start, we have an idea of what to expect from them, and we are looking forward to building on the experience of our previous encounter.
The girl's confidence has grown so much since our strong performance against UL Bohs, and we hope to take that into the final."
