Cooke Women's RFC are seeking to appoint a Head Coach for the incoming season.
Cooke RFC has the longest standing women’s team in Ulster, having been established in 1992. Cooke Women compete in Division One of the All Ireland League, and are currently the only Division One team in Ulster.
Cooke Women has over 50 members, of which 28 are involved with the Ulster Rugby Women’s Squad, and 3 are involved with the Ireland Women’s Squad. The Women’s team form an integral section of the overall club.
Cooke's club facilities in the Shaw’s Bridge area provides a steady stream of talented players, however as with most female teams in Ulster, the population is very transient. The successful applicant will need to integrate players quickly and create a strategy that addresses player turnover by developing all players to a good standard, and compensates for player turnover.

The role:
- Deliver engaging and beneficial training sessions throughout the season (two evenings a week from 7pm – 8.30pm)
- Create a coherent and progressive seasonal training plan for the club.
- Define a realistic and achievable team strategy for the players to work towards.
- Give advice and direction to develop individual players.
- Engage senior players in assisting with coaching sessions.
- Provide impartial and insightful advice with team selection.
- Attend all 1st XV matches (including all away matches), providing team warm-up and strategic decision making during the match.
- Build and develop a coaching team to aid players at all levels and abilities who fall outside of the 1st XV.
- Improve seasonal training attendances, make it fun, challenging and beneficial to all.
- Experience of coaching and player management at level 9 and above.
- Success driven, able to provide evidence of success with other teams.
- Reliable and fully committed.
- Enthusiastic and personable.
- Able to write and deliver a seasonal coaching plan and strategy that works towards pre-defined goals.

- Qualified to Stage 3 IRFU Coaching Qualification or higher (formerly known as Level 1)
- Similar experience of coaching a competitive rugby team
- Similar experience of female rugby (desirable)
- S&C coaching capabilities (desirable)
