To date Cooke Women have been the only team from Ulster that has competed in AIL Division 1 and after a tough season last year the Women are ready to establish themselves as the top ladies team in Ulster again and regain their position in AIL Division 1.
Over the years the club has had a huge number of it players selected to represent Ulster and Ireland. Currently, there are eight players involved with the Ulster Women’s squad and three involved with the Irish Squad, all of whom were involved in the successful Six Nations campaign last season.
The successful applicant will be responsible for helping to organise and manage the development of the players and the competitive performance of the squad. The applicant must possess excellent leadership and communication skills. The applicant must also have a solid knowledge and understanding of rugby union.
This is a part-time post and would suit someone who is willing to gain coaching experience and further their coaching certification.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
- IRFU Level 1 Head Coach
- Willing to coach Monday and Thursday evening and attend Sunday Games
LEVEL OF TEAM:
AIL Division 2
HEAD COACH NEEDED:
The club has a forwards assistant coach and a backs assistant coach.
PAID / VOLUNTARY ROLE:
Voluntary Role
APPROX HOURS PER WEEK, TRAINING DAYS:
Max 4 hours training per week (Monday and Thursday evening), plus a match on Sunday.
