Ulster Rugby recently hosted a three day 'Try Rugby' Camp for boys and girls aged 9-12 years old at Bishops Field Sports Centre, Creggan.
35 children from Creggan and Bogside catchment area including 28 kids from the Old Library Trust Community Group tasted rugby for the first time were offered the chance to hone their skills.
This summer camp will be a precursor to a satellite mini rugby club being setup at Bishops Field in Creggan by City of Derry Rugby Club. This unique initiative will be the first of its kind in Irish Rugby and is being supported and driven in conjunction with Ulster Rugby and Derry City Council.
The event was made possible due to the generous support of the NI Executive and the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure through the 'Promoting Equality, Tackling Poverty and Social Exclusion through Sport' programme.
