How long have you been playing rugby?
3 years
What made you start playing rugby?
I have Autism and Tourettes Syndrome. I wanted to be part of a group of young people that share the same needs and struggles.
What is your favourite thing about playing?
The friendships, the coaches and volunteers. Getting exercise while learning new skills. Rugby is great fun.
What advice would you give someone who would like to start rugby?
Find a team that fits your needs. You don’t have to know the rules or know what to do. Nothing is expected of you. Just be yourself and try your best to join in. Take it slow and ask one of the coaches for help.
When you are not playing rugby, what do you enjoy doing?
Diversity boxing and eclipse youth group for ASD in Banbridge.
What is your favourite thing to do after a game/training?
Go to subway and get a footlong from Julie in the Banbridge store. She knows what I like and doesn’t rush me. Then I chill.
What's your best rugby memory?
My first day. I saw a lot of friends.
If you could have any superpower to help you on the pitch, what would it be?
I would like to have the superpower to run fast.
Is there anything else you'd like to share about yourself or disability rugby?
I have Autism and that is my superpower!
