Ulster are back to winning ways after the victory over Connacht. We asked Head Coach, Neil Doak and try-scorer, Craig Gilroy, for their thoughts on the victory and to look ahead to next weekend’s inter-provincial clash against Leinster in the RDS:

Neil Doak on the win over Connacht:

When you look at the game, I think we were pretty dominant - we just didn’t get the just rewards. They are a dogged side and the conditions were difficult. Coming off the back of two losses we showed some good character to get the win.

Craig Gilroy on the win over Connacht:

It was a nice inside ball for my try and I was glad to get over.

Conditions weren’t great, but I think we did well. I am not sure that the score-line was a fair assessment of the game. There were times when we were pretty dominant, certainly from a backs point of view. I thought the back three covered well and it was a good win over another Province.

Neil Doak on Leinster:

We have been pretty good at home this year. We have lost just once – to Toulon. Our home form has been especially good in the league. Away from home we have got to certain points and we just haven’t been able to finish teams off and that has been frustrating. Next week, against Leinster, is going to be a big challenge for us in Dublin. We have to go down the road and try and take our home form with us. Hopefully if we can get the same dominance up front, we will have a platform that we can kick on from.

Craig Gilroy on Leinster:

The RBS 6 Nations are just around the corner and inter pros are a good opportunity to put your hand up for selection. However, we are with Ulster now and this is where we have to get the work done. I was happy that we got the win over Connacht and it has given us a bit of confidence going into next week. I enjoy going down to Dublin and I enjoy playing at the RDS. Everyone is really looking forward to the game.
