Nominations for Ulster Rugby and SONI's Community Champions Award were received in their dozens from across the four corners of Ulster and after a rigorous shortlisting process, eight semi-finalists have been revealed.Â
The award scheme, which is now in its third year, was initiated by SONI (the System Operator for Northern Ireland responsible for running the electricity grid) with the sole aim of recognising volunteers who contribute to the smooth running of grassroots rugby, having a positive impact on their club and community.
Each category winner will receive £1,000 bursary for their local club and two runners up will be awarded £500.
