Entertaining Rugby on show at Ulster Carpets Youth Finals

On Saturday 23 April, IRFU (Ulster Branch) President Bobby Stewart was on hand to make the presentations for a number of Ulster Carpets Youth Rugby Finals, played at the Mid Ulster Sports Arena Cookstown.

Instonians (pictured) collected the Ulster Carpets U14 Shield title, defeating Ballymoney 31-24.

In the Ulster Carpets U16 Shield Final, Enniskillen proved comfortably winners over Cavan (32-10).

The Ulster Carpets U16 Bowl Final was a tight competitive affair, with Ballymena eventually edging out City of Derry (17-15).

The fourth game produced a very exciting fixture. Donegal had the first score, but heading to the final whistle is was City of Derry who were leading. However, Donegal manage to cross the white line to take the Ulster Carpets U18 Shield Final (14-10).

The last game of the day was the Ulster Carpets U18 Bowl Final between Malone and Carrick. Whilst both teams put on a great display of rugby it was Malone that kept the scoreboard ticking over, and ran out 19-5 winners.

Congratulations to all teams involved, in what was a great day of entertaining Youth Rugby.
