First Ever Rugby Blitz Held At Falls Park

Year 8 and Year 9 boys from Christian Brothers School, Corpus Christie College (both West Belfast) and St. Patrick's Academy College (Lisburn) took part in the first ever Tag Rugby Blitz in Falls Park today.

Rugby continues to grow in West Belfast, with Ulster Rugby's Community Rugby Coach, Roy Lawton, delivering a number of programmes in local schools.

The success of the Ulster and Ireland teams in recent years has also led to an increase in interest. Ulster has a Heineken Cup quarter final against Saracens coming up on Saturday 5th April at Ravenhill, the biggest game to be held in the Province in over 15 years.

Ulster Rugby's coaching programmes in West Belfast have been made possible due to the generous support of the NI Executive and the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure through the ‘Promoting Equality, Tackling Poverty and Social Exclusion through Sport' programme.
