Get to Know: Nathan Doak

The Ulster Rugby Academy scrum-half made his senior debut versus Munster in January, but how much do you know about him? Find out below... Tell us about your player pathway. I started playing rugby at Wallace High School, then came through the Age-Grade system at Ulster. I trained with the seniors and played 'A' games; now I'm in the Ulster Rugby Academy. Who has been your biggest influence? My dad [Neil Doak]. He came through Ulster himself and I grew up watching him. Who is your best friend in the squad? Conor Rankin. We came through the Age-Grade system together, went to school together and played a lot of rugby together. Who is the funniest player in the squad? Definitely Ian Madigan. He gives the lads a good laugh and gets the boys going! Cardio or weights? Cardio. Early riser or night owl? Night owl, definitely. Would you rather be 4’5” or 7’7”? 7'7". Would you rather live in Antarctica or the Sahara Desert? Being ginger, you'd think I'd say Antartica but I'm not good with the cold! I'll go with Sahara and bring some sun cream! Which three dinner guests would you have at your dinner party and why? Pitbull, Floyd Mayweather and Cristiano Ronaldo. Pitbull would get people going! What would you do if you won the lottery? I'd definitely go on holiday with my mates, go to the car dealership and get a nice car. What player would you least like to be stuck on a desert island with? Ethan McIlroy. He'd be useless at doing anything and would be zero craic!
