The Guinness PRO12 Awards were hosted this evening at the Guinness Storehouse in Dublin. Players, coaches, media and club representatives gathered at the event to celebrate outstanding PRO12 performances of the season.
Ulster’s Craig Gilroy was among the award winners, picking up Sky Sports Try of the Year. Gilroy polled over 60% of the public vote for his exceptional Round 16 try against Scarlets at Kingspan Stadium in February.
A PRO12 panel of experts selected their eight favourite tries from the first 20 rounds of this season’s Guinness PRO12 before letting the supporters decide which one should win Sky Sports PRO12 Try of the Year. Among the contenders were Robin Copeland (Munster), Matt Healy (Connacht), Phil Burleigh (Edinburgh) and Jack O’Donoghue (Munster) who was voted runner up with his try versus Cardiff Blues.
