Girls Schools' Cup Knockout Stages This Week

Almost 12 months on from Ireland’s Grand Slam success in the Women’s Six Nations, the female game in Ulster is in a much stronger place than ever before.

Since that historic triumph, two dedicated Female Rugby Officers, Zoe Templeton and Glenda Mellon, in addition to other Ulster Rugby community staff, have been working hard to deliver programmes to girls at over 60 schools across Ulster.

As a result, over 50 schools have entered this season’s Girls Schools’ Cup, making it the biggest ever.

Sixteen teams have now progressed to the next stage of the competition (quarter finals and semi finals) which will take place this Wednesday at Antrim Grammar School (11am-2pm) and on Friday at Armagh RFC (11am-2pm).
