A Year 8 tournament was staged at Ophir RFC in Mallusk recently, involving four schools: Glengormley HS (pictured), St. Patrick’s College, Belfast Boys’ Model and Monkstown Community School. The top two teams progressed to the final, in which a strong Glengormley HS team came out winners against Boys Model.
The tournament was organised by Club Community Rugby Officer, Gavin Robinson. A short presentation was made by Ophir RFC President, Martin Morrison, in which he thanked the schools for attending the event and remarked on the entertaining rugby that was played by all four schools throughout the tournament. He then presented Glengormley HS captain Zak McAuley with the trophy and congratulated him and his team.
