Irfu Charitable Trust Week: 6th-13th December

The IRFU Charitable Trust has been running for 35 years and currently 33 players who suffer from some sort of paralysis are supported throughout Ireland. Of these 13 are from Ulster. The support provided takes many forms from building, renovations, provision of equipment and educational support.

This year the date which has been nominated for school rugby collections is Saturday 6th December 2014.  I would ask schools to give their support by asking each rugby player in the school to donate a minimum of £1 to the Trust on that day (or during the next week). Last year some schools also participated in other fundraising events which ensured that we increased the amount raised in respect of the ‘Friends of the Charitable Trust Day’ to almost £5000. This was a magnificent effort and it would be terrific if we could repeat, or exceed, that figure this year.

A cheque for the money collected (made out to the ‘IRFU Charitable Trust’) should be sent to Stephen Black (Principals’ Representative, IRFU Ulster Branch) at Ballymena Academy and he will forward it to the IRFU.  Details of the ‘Day’ will also be forwarded to masters-in-charge of rugby. Contributions as Friends of the Trust should be sent directly to the IRFU.

Thank you.
