Large Crowd Attends Open Day

Almost 3000 supporters joined the Ulster Rugby squad at Kingspan Stadium this afternoon for a Family Open Day in association with Official Charity Partner, Cancer Research UK.

A heavy rain shower midway through the event did little to dampen the spirits of those attending as hundreds of children took part in skills sessions hosted by their heroes. The players were also on hand to sign autographs, pose for photos and mingle with fans at a range of activities that were available throughout the afternoon.

As well as the tag rugby, skills and fitness sessions on the pitch, there was an inflatable assault course, climbing wall, photo booth, face painting, animal farm, archery, dance class, science experiments, teddy bear hospital, competitions, free giveaways and a barbeque.

The Family Open Day is the final event in Ulster Rugby’s ‘Kick Cancer into Touch’ initiative. So far supporters have raised over £26,000 for Cancer Research UK, not including the proceeds from the Open Day tickets. Thank you to everyone who has made this year’s charity partnership a tremendous success.

Ulster Rugby would like to say a special thank you to its partners Cancer Research UK, CD Group, BMW, Eye Feel Good, Forest Feast, Mash Direct and Kukri Sports for making the event possible.
