Ulster Rugby, with support from Lurgan YMCA, was able to bring together over 30 young people from 5 different youth clubs across the Lurgan area.

The participants, aged 14-17 years, came from Sarsfield GAA, Clan Eireann, Jethro Centre, Warringstown Youth Club and Lurgan YMCA.

They took part in six tag rugby sessions that were delivered by Ulster Rugby Community Rugby Coach, Marc Beggs. The participants were also given an insight into the strength and conditioning aspect of the sport from Fitness Development Officer, Paul Heasley. On the fifth session Ulster stars Niall Annett and Chris Cochrane visited the group for a Q & A session and they also took part in the skills aspect of the session.

Lurgan RFC coach Chris Stevenson has invited the group to come and take part in an U17 training session next Monday (9th December).

This project has been made possible due to the generous support of the NI Executive and the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure through the 'Promoting Equality, Tackling Poverty and Social Exclusion through Sport' programme.
