While he is cautious not to make any bold predictions, the 27-year-old has a focused mindset on what he wants to achieve both personally and for the team.
“The biggest focus right now is to learn every week, and grow as a team and if it leads to final stages of competitions then that is phenomenal. But we are just taking things week by week, seeing how we can improve as a squad. We have a fair few youngsters in the team that need to be integrated accordingly and we as seniors need to put our hands up and lead by example.
“The thing I have learnt in my career is that you are not always in control of what happens. But what I can control is my attitude, work rate, my performance or my willingness to help a young player to develop, and that is my personal goal going into the season. Hopefully it won’t take too long for me to find my form and I can represent Ulster to the best of my ability and give it my all for the club.”
