Played in a Sevens format, the final was a fast paced encounter with plenty of excitement and individual moments defining the match.
Enniskillen made the breakthrough on the scoreline first, with a brilliant try from the electric Natalie Turner, who showed great pace to beat her defender on the outside.
Down almost replied quickly, after a great burst down the right wing from Laura Neill, however Enniskillen's Grace Bracken was able to make the tackle and quickly position herself well for the jackal turnover.
The Champions could have added a second but for a great covering tackle from Annie Spratt that sent Turner into touch just centimetres from the whitewash.
The defending champions kept going and got their second through Ruby Moore, who ran a good attack line and had the speed to out sprint the Down defence on the outside to score.
At half-time Enniskillen led 0-10 at the break, which felt well deserved for their attacking threat.
With Down needing a way back into the final, they started off in the best possible way after a superb individual try from Freya Boyce, who was fed by Rachel Cleland in the back field.
Boyce showed great power and speed to find a gap in the Down defence and she couldn't be stopped. The try was converted well from captain, Méabh Hull.
Enniskillen would hit straight back to extend their lead, and it was Ruby Moore at it again. The 13 got the ball on the left channel after some slick passing from Enniskillen and Moore had too much pace to run through on the left wing to score.
The try was converted by Eve Balfour.
Down showed brilliant spirit to reply almost immediately from the restart, with Hull finding Boyce, who made a line break into Enniskillen territory. Boyce couldn't be halted by the chasing defence and she scored for her second of the final. Hull's kick was just short of the posts. Enniskillen led by 12-17 after the Boyce score.
The try gave Down some momentum, who were starting to pull together some attacking opportunities in Enniskillen territory.
A series of knock-ons in those attacking phases cost Down at times, halting their comeback efforts.
The game was put to bed by Ennsikillen, who had managed to wrestle back possession from Down after a loose lineout throw, with Jessy Irwin pouncing on the loose ball to turnover.
Captain Orlaith Maguire fired out a pass to Natalie Turner, who had too much speed on the outside channel for the Down defence. Turner finished well for her second of the final.
The defending champions were able to see out the rest of the contest and manage the game to seal their title defence.
Down High could be pleased with their efforts, and never gave up despite being behind in the scoreline.
