Ulster’s defence proved to be strong in the opening moments of the game, with two Munster two try attempts held up in the first 10 minutes.
However, Munster were first to score when Daniel Coughlan broke the Ulster line from well inside Munster’s half and touched down in the 14th minute. Ryan O’Connor added the extras.
Ulster were not to be defeated however and their first points came from powerful prop, Luke Caskey in the 21st minute. Andrew Jackson added the extras, causing the scores to go level.
Ulster were relentless and had the final say of the half, winger Ryan McDowell getting over the whitewash just four minutes later, and then back row, Dylan Fox picking up a try in stoppage time.
Running into the sheds at halftime Ulster led 7-17.

With the wind swirling around Virgin Media Park it was Ulster who got action underway for the second half.
Joshua McColgan crossed over for Ulster's fourth try of the afternoon as their maul barrelled over in the 42nd minute. Once again Jackson added the two, taking the score to 7-24.
Munster got a maul try of their own just 10 minutes later as they sent hooker Callum Tutty crashing over, closing the gap to 12-24.
Munster scored again in the 63rd minute, Rhys Morgan dotting down bringing just seven points between the sides with not long left on the clock.
But Ulster had one last try in them as Killian Brolly crashed over in the 66th minute. With Jackson adding the extras, the final score read, Munster 17-31 Ulster.
Luke Caskey was named Player of the Match after an excellent performance.
