Mcallister Supports Colin Neighbourhood Partnership Fun Day

On Friday 21st February, Ulster Rugby, in collaboration with the Colin Neighbourhood Partnership hosted a Rugby Fun Day for children and young people from the community.

The theme of the day was 'Rugby Comes to Colin', which was supported by Ulster Rugby prop, Paddy McAlister. Ulster Rugby has been working with schools in the area to grow the game and offer opportunities to get involved through the Promoting Equality, Tackling Poverty and Social Exclusion Programme, funded through the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure.

On the day children and their parents participated in rugby taster sessions, fitness sessions and an art workshop focusing on developing the identity of rugby in the area. The group also got the opportunity to ask some questions to McAlister, who spoke about life as a professional sportsperson in Northern Ireland.

This work would not have been such a success without the ongoing partnership work with Annie Armstrong and her team from the Colin Neighbourhood Partnership.
