As runners get ready for the Belfast City Marathon and other races in 2015, Mencap NI, Ulster Rugby's Official Charity Partner of the Year is asking people to take a big step forward and support Mencap while they are in training. Mencap is encouraging runners and fitness enthusiasts to text MENCAP to 70660* to donate £3 and then post a photo of themselves working out / in the gym / on the pitch or training for the marathon on Facebook or Twitter with their funky footwear (wearing brightly coloured socks and trainers), using the hashtag #FitFeet and don't forget to spread the goodwill by telling people that you have donated to Mencap.
Funds raised will go towards Mencap's Big Step Forward appeal which aims to raise £1.7 million to build, equip and run their new Children and Families’ Centre located just two miles from Kingspan Stadium. The new centre is due to open on the site of the former Newtownbreda Primary School in January 2016.
