During November the Coach Development department have been busy hosting 2 very successful coaching courses. A stage 1 (mini) course was held at Dromore RFC and was attended by 42 mini rugby coaches while a stage 2 (foundation) course was held at CIYMS RFC and had 34 coaches in attendance which resulted in 76 newly accredited coaches.
Course Directors Brian O’Shaughnessy and Chris Galway were extremely pleased with how both courses went. Brian commented "Hosting coaching courses is essential for our coaches to become accredited and feel more confident in delivering effective coaching sessions. We were delighted with the attendance at both courses. We had coaches from both primary and secondary schools as well as rugby clubs and community groups."?
Brian and Chris would like to thank Nigel Dale (Dromore RFC) and David Peden and Richard Barnes (CIYMS RFC) for all their help and assistance. Thanks must also go the experienced IRFU tutors and of course the coaches themselves for all their hard work and dedication.
