Now Hiring: Rugby Development Officer

Ulster Rugby is currently inviting applications for the post of Rugby Development Officer. The successful candidate will deliver a regional plan that improves the quality of coaches and the game of rugby in clubs and schools across all stages of the LTPD programme. The successful candidate will have IRFU Mini (Stage 1) and/or Foundation (stage 2) coaching qualification (or equivalent) and either: Primary degree or equivalent qualification in sports or PE related discipline coupled with a minimum of 2 years’ work experience in at least two of the following areas: - Sports development - Coach development - PE related discipline - Teaching Or 3 years’ work experience in at least two of the above disciplines. It is essential that they have 2 years coaching experience at LTPD stage 1-2, experience of delivering development programmes to a high standard, practical experience of analysing, developing and co-ordinating support services to clubs and schools and experience of dealing with volunteers in a support capacity. They should have access to a form of transport that will permit them to meet the requirements of the post in full, have the ability to work unsociable hours, including evenings and weekends and be eligible to work and live in the UK at the closing date for applications. Having excellent organisational ability, the ability to critically review performance processes and deliver a quality outcome, influence others positively, excellent written and oral presentation skills, clarity in decision-making, well-developed time management skills, being able to work alone and as part of a team and computer literate is key. This is a permanent full-time position, covering the North West Region, subject to the receipt of ongoing funding from the IRFU.
