Players in the Community – April 2019

The players of Ulster Rugby were on hand to support a number of club, schools and community initiatives throughout the Province during April. Here is a snapshot of some of the activity… Tuesday 2nd April – OCN NI Mentoring Practice Awards Wednesday 3rd April- Dromore High School End of Season Awards Rob Lyttle attended the end of season awards at Dromore High School. Saturday 6th April – Civil Service NI RFC Mini Rugby Festival Louis Ludik visited Civil Service NI RFC, as the club hosted a mini rugby festival. Image removed. Saturday 6th April – Randalstown RFC Mini Rugby Festival Tuesday 9th April – Holy Cross Strabane Jersey Launch John Cooney and Jacob Stockdale helped Holy Cross Strabane launch their new rugby jerseys. Tuesday 9th April - Marie Curie Hospice Visit Tuesday 9th April - Coaching Masterclass Wednesday 10th April - Dogs Trust Visit Wednesday 10th April - Regent House Prize-Giving Will Addison and Johnny McPhillips presented the medals at the Regent House prize-giving ceremony at the La Mon Hotel. Wednesday 10th April - Larne Grammar Sports Dinner Wednesday 10th April - Meet the Players Event Friday 12th April - Peace IV Presentation Saturday 13th April – Coleraine RFC Mini Blitz Coleraine RFC hosted a mini rugby blitz which included a traveling P7 team from Glasgow, and Craig Gilroy made a special appearance. Image removed. Week commencing Monday 15th April A number of Ulster players visited Subway Easter Camps throughout Easter week, both at Kingspan Stadium and throughout the Province. Tuesday 16th April - Instonians Seahorses Rugby Tour Tom O’Toole met up with the young Instonians Seahorses to present them with their jerseys and wish them well before they departed on their rugby tour. Wednesday 17th April - Tannaghmore PS visit Thursday 18th April – Carrick 7s launch John Cooney attended the launch of the 47th Carrick 7s tournament, which will take place on the first May bank holiday weekend. Tuesday 30th April - Welcome Home Volunteering Players and support staff from the Abbey Insurance Ulster Academy spent the afternoon volunteering at 'Welcome Home', where they upcycled discarded furniture for people moving on from homelessness. Image removed.
