Players in the Community - Dec 2018

The players of Ulster Rugby were on hand to support a number of club, schools and community initiatives throughout the Province during December. Here is a snapshot of some of the activity… Tuesday 4th December - Age grade jersey presentations Adam McBurney and Michael Lowry presented Ulster’s age grade players with their jerseys following their exploits during the recent inter-provincial campaigns.   Monday 10th December - Henderson attends QUB event Iain Henderson attended Queen's University's Reception at Riddell Hall. Monday 10th December - Ulster Rugby Carol Service A number of players attended our annual carol service, which was held at Mount Merrion Parish Church. Jacob Stockdale and Henry Speight delivered bible readings.   Tuesday 11th December – Marcell visits Dromore PS The pupils at Dromore Primary School got a surprise when Marcell Coetzee popped in to see them. Tuesday 18th December - Include Youth Christmas Party We teamed up with our charity partner Include Youth to host a Christmas party for their staff and some of the young people involved in their programmes. Craig Gilroy, Jack Owens, Kyle McCall, Peter Nelson, Ross Kane, Alan O’Connor, Matty Rea and Rob Lyttle were in attendance. Tuesday 18th December - Kingspan training day Eighty pupils were invited along to Kingspan Stadium for coaching sessions with Dan McFarland, Tom O’Toole, Clive Ross, Louis Ludik, John Cooney and Jordi Murphy. Tuesday 18th December - OUR Club Christmas Party In the lead-up to Christmas, Junior Season Ticket holders were invited along to celebrate with Henry Speight, Luke Marshall, Will Addison and Marcell Coetzee. They all enjoyed a night of playing Playstation, Christmas crafts and a festive Photo Booth, as well as tucking into food provided by Subway. Tuesday 18th December - Players support Mission Christmas Appeal John Cooney, Nick Timoney, Rory Best, Darren Cave, Caleb Montgomery, Sean Reidy, Adam McBurney, David Busby, Rob Herring, Kieran Treadwell, Greg Jones, Billy Burns, John Andrew, Dave Shanahan, Eric O’Sullivan, Ian Nagle, Michael Lowry, Angus Curtis, Johnny McPhillips and Andy Warwick gave up two hours of their time to help Cash for Kids with their Mission Christmas Appeal. The aim of the appeal was to collect presents for families that didn’t have enough money to buy presents for their children at Christmas. Tuesday 25th December - Henry helps those in need Henry Speight volunteered with the Simon Community NI, who were providing food to homeless people on Christmas Day.
