Players in the Community - Nov 2018

The players of Ulster Rugby were on hand to support a number of club, schools and community initiatives throughout the Province during November. Here is a snapshot of some of the activity… Saturday 3rd November – Rory visits the Panthers The players of Portadown Panthers, the club’s disability rugby team, got a nice surprise when Ulster and Ireland captain Rory Best visited their training session. Wednesday 14th November – Welcome Organisation Visit A number of the Ulster squad went along to the Welcome Organisation’s Belfast headquarters, to lend their support to those affected by homelessness. Monday 19th November – Schools’ Competitions Launch Michael Lowry, Tom O’Toole and Angus Kernohan, who all recently played in Schools’ Cup rugby, were in attendance for the launch of the 2018/19 Danske Bank Ulster Schools’ Competitions. Monday 19th November – Positive Male Role Models As part of International Mens Day, Luke Marshall, David Busby and Chris Henry took part in a Positive Male Role Models event at Bank of Ireland Headquarters. Monday 19th November – Club Kicking Session Ulster player Peter Nelson shared some of his expertise with club coaches at a kicking session in Portadown RFC. Tuesday 27th November – Meet the Supporters Event Assistant Coach Dwayne Peel plus Michael Lowry, Tom O’Toole, Adam McBurney and Matthew Rea attended a meet the players event at Kingspan Stadium where they previewed the upcoming Heineken Champions Cup games. Wednesday 29th November – GoldMark Awards Craig Gilroy was the special guest at the Sport Uniting Communities 'Rewarding Young Volunteer Celebration Event' ceremony at Titanic Belfast, where young volunteers from across the Province were rewarded for their commitment to their local sporting clubs.
