Portadown Rfc Hosts Rugby Blitz

On Tues 25th Feb Portadown RFC hosted seven Year 8 teams from the local area to play in a full contact blitz.

The teams included Clounagh JHS (two teams), Killicomaine JHS (two teams), Lurgan JHS (two teams) and St Pauls, Lurgan.

This Blitz, organised my Ulster Rugby's Community Rugby Coach, Marc Beggs, gave the players an opportunity to play prior to the Ulster Branch Year 8 Qualifying tournaments that are due to start next week across the Province.

Beggs was keen to extend his thanks to Lurgan RFC's Club Community Rugby Officer, Graeme Hunter, for his help during the blitz and Portadown RFC for the generous use of their facilities.

This event was made possible due to the generous support of the NI Executive and the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure through the 'Promoting Equality, Tackling Poverty and Social Exclusion through Sport' programme.
