Campaign so far
Ulster are currently third in the URC standings, winning seven of their nine games to date, with the only two losses coming at the hands of table-toppers Leinster. Last weekend the Ulster men edged out Connacht 20-22 at The Sportsground to get back to winning ways after a tough run of three defeats against Leinster in the URC, then Sale Sharks and La Rochelle in the Heineken Champions Cup.
Munster have had an uncharacteristically slow start to the season, winning just four of their opening ten games in the URC to leave them in 11th place. However, they have shown a return to form in recent weeks - beating Northampton Saints away in the Champions Cup then running Leinster all the way last weekend before just coming up short to lose 19-20.
Ulster and Munster met at Thomond Park in the reverse fixture in October, with Ulster earning a hard fought 14-15 win.

• The Munster men have won their last two away games, at Edinburgh in the United Rugby Championship and at Northampton in the European Champions Cup and have not won three in succession on their travels since October 2021.
