The race for the playoff places in this season’s RaboDirect PRO12 will go down to the wire following Glasgow’s narrow win over Edinburgh at Scotstoun.
That result pushed the Scottish side above Ulster and Munster and into second position.
Mark Anscombe’s side are still in the playoff spaces in fourth place, five points ahead of Ospreys and now three points behind Munster in third.
Leinster top the table on 74 points.
Ulster’s fate in the competition will now be determined by two huge inter-provincial matches, the first against Leinster next Friday before a trip to Thomond Park to face Munster.
The game against Leinster will also see the newly refurbished Ravenhill Stadium formally opened.
