Ulster Rugby is calling for applications by experienced and suitably qualified artist(s) to produce a dynamic and innovative site-specific sculpture for the new Kingspan Stadium.
The total budget available for the sculptures is up to £40,000 excluding VAT, to include all design, manufacture and installation costs.
This commission forms part of the Regional Stadia Public Art Project, a programme that aims to contribute to the development of Belfast as a shared cultural space through the creation of significant public artworks for each of the three Regional Stadia.
The Project has been identified by the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure (DCAL) as a key element in the Regional Stadium Development Programme’s strategy in tackling poverty and social exclusion, promoting equality and enhancing the quality of life of local communities through participation and engagement in cultural, arts and leisure activities.
The vision for this sculpture is to create a landmark piece for the new stadium that is by turns engaging and symbolic of visions of the game.
