#ReturnToRugby Best Practice: Graduated Contact

Ulster Rugby has produced a ‘Return to Rugby’ best practice video to help support coaches and players at clubs and schools operate within the IRFU’s COVID-19 safety guidelines. This video outlines the protocols put in place by the Ulster Rugby Academy to ensure a safe return to training, such as socially-distanced group work, graduated return to contact using bags and pads, and progress to controlled 1-1 contact. The following video is a discussion with Rugby Development Officer, Darryl Maxwell and Gavin Hogg, Rugby Development Manager about how to safely make a graduated return to contact. Darryl and Gavin will also share how to plan appropriate activities for training sessions.
