P7 boys from Sacred Heart Primary School got their first taster of contact rugby at a recent 'Play Rugby' event hosted by Ophir RFC.
The kids have been receiving coaching from Ulster Rugby's Community Rugby Coach for North Belfast, Alasdair McKee and Ophir RFC's Club Community Rugby Coach Gavin Robinson. Having previously taken part in a number tag rugby blitzes, the boys were delighted to give the full version of the game a 'try'.
The coaching assistance from Ulster Rugby has been made possible due to the generous support of the NI Executive and the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure through the ‘Promoting Equality, Tackling Poverty and Social Exclusion through Sport' programme.
