How has training been under the new coaching team?
It's been really enjoyable these past few weeks, Murray, Grace, Amy, Kathryn and Eric all have a great mix of experience and it's great to have new ideas in training.
How are you feeling ahead of our opening interprovincial match against Munster?
I definitely feel more ready for this series, back in January I was very inexperienced and had just made a step up from playing Under 18s rugby, so was full of nerves. I still feel nerves but feel much more ready.
We are excited to get going, the girls been working hard and those new faces have brought a new energy in the lead- up to this.
You mention that this time last year you were playing under 18s rugby, can you believe how much has happened for you during such a short time?
It's been a whirlwind, I haven't had a lot of time to think about it but it's been amazing. It happened so quickly playing senior rugby and then playing for Ireland in the TikTok Six Nations was amazing. I took a lot from the opportunity and I feel its progressed me a lot in the front row. Working with coaches in the Irish camp, Ilse Van Staden last season and Eric O'Sullivan now is really helping my game.
What was your standout memory of the Six Nations?
I think my first cap against Wales, getting that chance was huge and I didn’t expect it so soon. We didn’t win but I wouldn’t change it.
And to cap it off you were awarded the Young Womens' Player of the Year in the 2022/23 Ulster Rugby Awards, what did winning that mean to you?
Awards are great but the team is the most important thing, someone else could have got it. It is nice to get an award though! I am proud and it’s all about learning at this stage. I feel I am on the baseline and want to keep improving and get better. I feel there is so much more to come.
What would you be proud of at the end of this interprovincial series?
We didn’t get going last time and we didn’t get to show what we can do, we have some unbelievable players and we want to showcase what we can do.
