1. Match Update: Round 8 of the RaboDirect PRO12 kicks off at Ravenhill later - Ulster is currently in fifth place, eight points ahead of this evening's opponent, Edinburgh who are in ninth position. This season Ulster have won four of their seven PRO12 games and lost three. A win tonight is crucial and could take us to within the top three. We are delighted to welcome Alan Solomons to Ravenhill this evening, the Edinburgh head coach spent three years in charge at Ulster from 2001-2004 and in that time the province remained unbeaten at home in their European games. Solomons commented this week: "I'm certainly looking forward to going back to Ravenhill. I've got very fond memories of Ulster and haven't been there for a number of years, so I'm really looking forward to it. This is going to be a really tough fixture but presents these players with an opportunity to build on their performance against a highly-ranked side at a very tough venue".
