'Spirit of Rugby' award for Banbridge RFC's Stephen Kelly

Banbridge RFC Club Welfare Officer, Stephen Kelly has been awarded an inaugural Irish Rugby 'Spirit of Rugby' award at last weekend's NatWest 6 Nations game against Italy in the Aviva Stadium by President of the IRFU, Philip Orr.

The Irish Rugby Spirit of Rugby programme aims to support players, coaches, volunteers and parents within the game and to educate them about their rights and responsibilities on and off the field. 
 
The Irish Rugby Football Union is fully committed to ensuring the highest possible safeguarding standards, in line with legislation and national guidance as per the IRFU’s Safeguarding policy and Club Action Plan. 
 
Stephen has been proactive in creating a safe and fun environment for Age-grade players, from including Codes of Conduct in registration day to initiating Silent Side-lines. He has played an active part in the distribution of the IRFU pavement sign and ‘Play Your Part’ video that promotes good touchline behaviour for Age-grade Players.
