Stage 3 Coaching Course Held At Kingspan Stadium

Recently the Ulster Rugby Coach Development department hosted a very successful stage 3 coaching course at the new state of the art facilities at the Kingspan Stadium.

25 coaches from a mixture of schools and clubs attended the 3 day course to further their coaching knowledge. A number of high profile tutors from Ulster Rugby were on hand to take the coaches through a number of different modules. These tutors included Brian McLaughlin, Kieran Campbell, Allen Clarke and James Topping to name but a few.

Course Directors Chris Galway and Brian O’Shaughnessy were extremely pleased with how the course went. Brian commented:

"We host our annual stage 3 course every year at the Kingspan Stadium but this was the 1st year we were able to avail of our new world class facilities. The classroom aspect of the course took place in the Ulster Rugby seminar room in the Family Stand which is used on a daily basis by the Ulster Rugby squad for their team meetings. Aquinas Grammar School kindly let us use their 3G pitch for the practical modules so all in all the coaches had a fantastic experience. Many thanks must go to all the tutors for their invaluable input, Barry Niblock at Aquinas Grammar School and all those at Ulster Rugby who made the course possible. Finally a huge thanks must go to the 25 coaches who showed undoubted commitment by attending the 3 day course."

There is another stage 3 coaching course planned on the 8th, 9th and 10th August 2014 at Royal School Dungannon. For more information on this course please contact julie.dorman@ulsterrugby.com.
