Stage 3 Coaching Course Held At Kingspan Stadium

Ulster Rugby hosted a successful Stage 3 coaching course at Kingspan Stadium last week.

24 coaches from schools and clubs across the province attended the three day course to further their coaching knowledge. A number of high profile tutors from Ulster Rugby were on hand to take the coaches through a variety of topics including Brian McLaughlin, Alex Codling, Michael Black and Jonny Gillespie from the Ulster Rugby Academy.

Course Director Chris Galway was extremely pleased with how the course went, commenting: "Coach education is vital to improve the quality of our domestic game. The fact that so many Ulster Rugby Academy staff contributed to the delivery and structure of the course indicates the vital role that club and school coaches have in player and team development, ensuring that best practices principles are delivered province-wide. "Thanks must go to all the tutors for their invaluable input; Aquinas Grammar School for the use of their 3G pitch and all those at Ulster Rugby who made the course possible. Finally, thanks must go to the 24 coaches for their enthusiasm, eagerness to participate and their knowledge which contributed to the quality of the course."

There is another Stage 3 Coaching Course planned on the 14th - 16th August 2015 at Royal School Dungannon. For more information on this course please contact julie.darragh@ulsterrugby.com.
