19 participants attended a Lep course at Colin Glen Trust on Thursday 19th March.
Representatives from the host venue were joined by coaches from Blackmountain Action Group and Youth Initiatives, St Patrick's Academy, Lisburn, Antrim GS and Ulster Rugby Volunteer Crew members. The session was arranged by Community Rugby Coach, Roy Lawton and delivered by Coach Development Officer, Chris Galway and was supported by DCAL under the ‘Promoting Equality, Tackling Poverty and Social Exclusion through Sport’ programme..
These newly qualified coaches will now be bringing rugby to the heart of their own communities and schools on a regular basis through community based clubs. They have also expressed a desire in coming together to try to establish a fully fledged rugby club in West Belfast.
