Fitness Development Coaches Paul Heasley and Robbie Bremner joined Disability & Inclusion Officer Tim Craig in delivering the content, which looked at developing fundamental movement skills, primitive movements patterns, balance and full body awareness exercises.
The main focus of the session was to pilot a fun / activity based fitness curriculum for those with a disability. The next step is to develop a Volunteer Fitness Development Coach Education Programme for those with a learning disability. This will be a collaborative project between the various streams within Ulster Rugby.
This coaching input from Ulster Rugby has been made possible due to the generous support of the NI Executive and the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure through the 'Promoting Equality, Tackling Poverty and Social Exclusion through Sport' programme.
