Ulster A team named host Munster

The Ulster A team has been named to host Munster A in seventh and final round of the Celtic Cup on Friday evening (kick-off 5.00pm at Shaw’s Bridge, Belfast). 19-year-old David McCann will captain the side from openside flanker and he will be joined in the back row with Joe Dunleavy and Marcus Rea. David O’Connor and Jack Regan are paired in the second row, with prop Andrew Warwick adding experience to the pack alongside Tommy O’Hagan and Zack McCall in the front row. Behind the scrum, Jonny Stewart and Bruce Houston link up at half-back. Ben Power and Hayden Hyde make up the Ulster midfield, with Graham Curtis, Angus Kernohan and Ethan McIlroy selected in the back three. Tom Stewart, Callum Reid, Peter Cooper, Matthew Dalton and Matthew Agnew will be the forward reinforcements on the bench, with Nathan Doak, Luke Pollock and Conor Rankin covering the backline. One more win would be enough to guarantee Ulster a place in the Celtic Cup final, with Connacht currently two points behind second placed Ulster. Connacht will host Leinster, who are already qualified for the final, at the Sportsground on Saturday afternoon.
