Ulster Rugby Medical Committee Update Meeting - 26 Sep 2017

In keeping with our commitment towards player safety and care, we are holding another teaching meeting for doctors and physiotherapists, whether involved in rugby or not.

This will take place in the 1924 Bar (enter via the rear of the Grandstand), Kingspan Stadium, on Tuesday 26 September, 2017.

Programme:

6.00-6.30pm –     Registration and coffee/tea.

6.30-7.10pm –     Report on year 2 of the RISUS study of rugby injuries in schoolboys.
Mr Pullar Archbold, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon.

7.10–7.50pm –     The concussion epidemic: The Ulster Rugby response.
Dr Michael Webb, Medical Director, Ulster Rugby

7.50–8.30pm –     Shoulder rehabilitation in rugby players.
Mr Chris McNicholl, Physiotherapist too the Ulster senior squad.

8.30–9.10pm     Recent changes in head injury assessment:  the Berlin Consensus and SCAT5 development. 
Dr Michael Webb, Medical Director, Ulster Rugby.

Chairman: Dr Richard Wilson, Emergency Medicine Consultant, RVH.

We hope as many club doctors and physiotherapists as possible will be able to attend.  

There is no fee for this meeting.
