Ulster Rugby were delighted to be announced winners of the Best Event or Festival Experience at last night's prestigious Northern Ireland Tourism Awards 2017.
The crème de la crème of Northern Ireland’s Tourism and Hospitality industry gathered at Enniskillen Castle for the glitzy affair hosted by Tourism NI in association with Diageo.
The European Champions Cup tie between Ulster Rugby and French side Clermont Auvergne, which took place in December at Kingspan Stadium, was shortlisted for the award in April along with Balmoral Show 2016, Belfast Christmas Market 2016, Carnival of Colours and Sunflowerfest 2016. A public vote was then opened to decide the overall winner, which was announced at the annual awards celebration last night.
Announcing the award, the organising committee commented:
“This was a fantastic event organised by Ulster Rugby, who ensured there was something for all the family to enjoy with plenty of pre-match activities and entertainment. The large contingent of travelling French supporters further added to the occasion, enjoying the best of our local hospitality.”
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our supporters, partners and sponsors who took the time to place a vote for Ulster Rugby. We are truly delighted to have been named winners amongst extremely deserving and high calibre competition.
If you would like to see what the fuss is all about, why not join us for our last Ulster Rugby event experience of this season as Kingspan Stadium plays host to a unique fixture between Ulster and the world-famous Barbarians on Thursday 1st June at 7.30pm.
