Ulster team announced for Glasgow trip

Dan McFarland has named the 28-man Ulster squad that will travel to Glasgow for a second pre-season game on Saturday (Scotstoun Stadium, 2.30pm). Summer signings Jack McGrath and Bill Johnston are set to make their debuts after being named among the replacements for the clash, which follows last week’s 50-19 home win against the same opposition. Will Addison returns to provincial action after missing the second half of last season due to a back injury, while fellow internationals Rob Herring and Jordi Murphy are also included in the panel. Herring is joined in the front row by Eric O’Sullivan and Marty Moore. Sam Carter will make his first start in Ulster colours and will pack down alongside Kieran Treadwell in the second row. Matty Rea, Sean Reidy and Nick Timoney will combine in the back row. John Cooney and Billy Burns will resume their effective half-back partnership from last season, while Stuart McCloskey and Matt Faddes are paired together in midfield for the first time. Addison, Craig Gilroy and Rob Lyttle make up a dangerous back three. McGrath, Murphy, John Andrew, Kyle McCall, Tom O’Toole, Alan O’Connor and Greg Jones will provide forward cover, with Johnston, Dave Shanahan, James Hume, Angus Curtis, Angus Kernohan and Michael Lowry completing the squad.
