Ulster to take on Scarlets at Parc y Scarlets

Interim Head Coach, Richie Murphy, has named his team to take on this week’s Welsh opponents, Scarlets, at Parc y Scarlets (KO 3 05pm) in Round 16 of the BKT United Rugby Championship.

Lock, Alan O’Connor, captains the side again this week from the second row, where he is joined by Kieran Treadwell, who makes his return from an injury sustained against DHL Stormers in Cape Town.

The front row sees one change from the home win over Benetton, with Rob Herring returning to the side at hooker. Herring is joined by Eric O’Sullivan at loosehead prop and Scott Wilson at tighthead prop.

The back row has two changes, as Cormac Izuchukwu starts at blindside flanker, David McCann on the openside and a return to action for Nick Timoney in the number eight jersey.

Izuchukwu scored his first senior Ulster try in the bonus point victory against Benetton in Round 15.

Recent BKT Player of the Match, John Cooney, starts alongside Billy Burns in the half-back partnership.

The back five has one change from Benetton, with Ethan McIlroy starting on the right wing.

Jacob Stockdale will hope to add to his seven URC tries this season on the left wing.

The centre partnership remains unchanged as Stuart McCloskey is named alongside Will Addison in the centre positions.

Mike Lowry completes the line-up at full-back on his 100th Ulster appearance.

On the bench the forward options are Tom Stewart, Andrew Warwick, James French, Harry Sheridan, Reuben Crothers and Dave Ewers.

Nathan Doak and Stewart Moore both return from injury to form the back options.
