Tournament organisers EPCR have today announced fixtures for Rounds 1 to 4 of the 2020-21 Heineken Champions Cup. Ulster will kick-off their campaign in Pool B at Kingspan Stadium on Friday 11 December 2020 against French outfit, Toulouse.
Round 2 sees Ulster make the trip to Kingsholm Stadium to face Gloucester on Saturday 19 December, before the return fixture versus the Cherry-and-Whites at Kingspan Stadium on Saturday 16 January 2021 in Round 3. The Ulster men will then travel to Stade Ernest Wallon for the away fixture against Toulouse on Sunday 24 January for Round 4.
A total of 38 clubs from six countries have qualified on merit for the Heineken Champions Cup and Challenge Cup from Europe’s three leading professional championships – Gallagher Premiership Rugby, Guinness PRO14 and TOP 14.
The Heineken Champions Cup consists of two pools of 12 clubs with the pool stage played over four rounds. The four highest-ranked clubs in each pool will qualify for the quarter-finals which will be played over two legs on a home and away basis.
The clubs ranked 5 to 8 in Pool A and 5 to 8 in Pool B will qualify for the Round of 16 of the Challenge Cup.
Television coverage in the UK and Ireland of this season’s expanded Heineken Champions Cup continues to be led by BT Sport who will once again broadcast every match live. The 24-club competition, featuring nine previous winners with 19 titles between them, will also be available on a free-to-air basis with one key match per round on Channel 4 and Virgin Media.
