Richie Murphy's team sealed their position within the top eight positions in the URC after the victory that lifted the province to sixth position on 53 points.
Results elsewhere meant that Ulster will finish no lower than eighth position in the table, with one round left in the regular season.
Ulster take on table leaders, Munster, at Thomond park in the final Round 18 next week, with both sides vying for an important win.
The province sit one position and one point behind DHL Stormers, who face the Emirates Lions in Cape Town.
This means a victory against Munster with a Stormers slip- up could see Ulster take 5th spot.
Behind Ulster, seventh faces eighth, as Edinburgh face Benetton in Treviso.
Both teams sit four points behind Ulster, meaning only one could potentially leapfrog Ulster depending on the result in the Munster clash.
The Emirates Lions could also force their way into the top eight with a victory over DHL Stormers. The South African side are currently sitting in ninth and level on points with Edinburgh and Benetton.
What about Europe?
All eyes on this weekend.
Should Hollywoodbets Sharks defeat Gloucester Rugby in this weekend's EPCR Challenge Cup Final, they will become one of the eight URC teams who qualify for next season's EPCR Champions Cup.
A Sharks win would mean that teams who finish within the top seven of the league will qualify for next season's Champions Cup and the eighth placed team would enter the Challenge Cup.
However, there is also a potential scenario where only the top six qualify for Champions Cup action.
For this to happen:
Hollywoodbets Sharks would need to win the Challenge Cup this weekend and the team that finishes in eighth position would have to win the URC Championship following the play-offs.
