It's not only the return of the All-Ireland League that is creating a buzz this weekend…. USRFR members Chris Busby and Peter Martin are on the other side of the world to officiate at two separate Rugby World Cup 2023 Qualifiers. Busby is the referee for Canada v Chile which is being played in Langford, British Columbia on Saturday whilst Martin is Assistant Referee for the USA v Uruguay match in Glendale, Colorado, also on Saturday. Peter Martin refereed his first full professional game recently when he took charge of the Munster ‘Red’ v Munster ‘Blue’ pre-season match, which took place after Bath pulled out of their match with Munster. Closer to home, Oisin Quinn and Dan Carson will be assistant referees for the Munster v DHL Stormers game at Thomond Park on Saturday. There is also a full Men’s and Women’s AIL programme with Richard Sweeney taking charge of the Cooke v Ballincollig WAIL game.
