On Wednesday 5th November, women’s teams from UUC, Queen’s University and Tallagh IT took part in a development blitz held at the University of Ulster in Coleraine.
Over the past six weeks Community Rugby Coach, Nathan Deeney, has been working very hard with the girls from UUC to establish female rugby at the university and he commented: “It’s been great to have the girls put what they’ve learned into a real live game for the first time and seeing them develop from week one to now is outstanding. There was some real talent on show from all teams and a lot of fun had as well. A big thanks to the two teams that travelled.”
The coaching input from Nathan has been made possible due to the generous support of the NI Executive and the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure through the 'Promoting Equality, Tackling Poverty and Social Exclusion through Sport' programme.
