The Challenge
“With Munster, it's a battle of the breakdown and set pieces are a big part of the game. We know we can be a bit cleaner with the ball than in recent weeks and know we need to control territory. Munster have changed their way of playing under Mike Prendergast and they are dangerous. We need to manage the game well and target our maul strength."
On Christmas and recovery
“This is the longest break I’ve had over Christmas as a professional rugby player so it was a big bonus with the schedule to have a rest period and a full week of training heading into the game.”

“ They had picked their best team, it’s a tough place to go and we had never played on that surface. We were pleased with the result, not the perfect performance but there were good aspects and some areas we need to get right for Munster.”
Momentum
“Momentum is a big thing in rugby you have to stick to your systems, your processes and have calmness in the group. Post-Connacht, we are hopefully going in the right direction. You want to be as dominant as possible, we want to be tactically as good as possible and mentally.”
Munster Motivation
“We’re looking to put out our strongest team, we’re going to have a crack at them with a good crowd and we beat them away, of course. We’ll go out there and give it a good go.”
Threats
“Forward-wise they always have a good pack. We’ll back ourselves against them as we have done well in the past. You want to play the best, dominate the best and smash your authority on them.”
“They had a good game against Leinster on Boxing Day and are playing well across the board both in attack and defence."
On Ulster’s maul 'weapon'
“I think it has went well for us but you have to plan for other things when it doesn’t work. A good team needs to have a good set piece, some days the maul might be the ‘hammer’ but others it doesn’t and you have to find another avenue to points.”
